I recently was gifted a book titled: ‘101 Gangster Movies You Must See Before You Die’. Over the next year or more, I will be working my way through the entire book, watching 101 gangster movies simply because I clearly have nothing better to do. I will do a series where, on here, I will give a quick 5-minute summary of my thoughts (not a full review) and telling you how I felt about that movie. The book starts in the early age of cinema in the 1910’s and goes through each decade so this is gonna be fun…
4. Underworld ~ 1927 (U.S.)
Easily the best film so far in this series; I really enjoyed it. A great character piece with likeable heroes and unlikeable villains, which also contains a heroic and satisfying climax. Definitely one to check out if you’re interested in silent film or film in general.
